Supernatural's 300th Episode Will Bring Back Jeffrey Dean Morgan
After an absence of more than a decade, Jeffrey Dean Morgan is reuniting with his wayward sons for the 300th episode of Supernatural. Not letting a small matter of being killed off in the second season get in the way of a comeback, executive producer Andrew Dabb teased the return of other beloved characters to help celebrate the milestone episode.
“We’re incredibly excited to have Jeffrey back for this milestone episode, and think fans will love what we have planned for his character… and a few other surprise guest stars."
The seemingly indestructible CW cult favourite is currently airing its 14th season in the US and is already up to the midseason finale. UK fans will have to wait for the New Year when Supernatural season 14 arrives on E4. Being killed off multiple times or getting possessed by an Angel/Demon/God is just another day at the office for the Winchesters. Perhaps Pappa Winchester will bring Lucille with him.
For a series that has lasted as long a Supernatural, I am still at a loss as to why The CW hasn't managed to launch a successful spin-off. I think we can all agree that the backdoor pilot for Bloodlines during the ninth season was a misfire. However, the Jody Mills (Kim Rhodes) let Wayward Sisters was (as far as I'm concerned) a home run, six seasons and a movie, please. The backdoor pilot during season thirteen finally gave us the Supernatural spin-off fans wanted, nay, deserved. Sadly, The CW didn't agree, and Wayward Sisters was cancelled despite being ordered to series earlier in the year.
The 300th episode will be titled Lebanon and is set to air on The CW on February 7, 2019. I should imagine that the decision on a season fifteen will be made shortly after Supernatural concludes its shorter 20 episode current run.
