Michelle Monaghan Will Be Back For Mission Impossible 6
Michelle Monaghan will reunite with Tom Cruise as she's set to reprise her role in Christopher McQuarrie's now shooting Mission Impossible 6. Monaghan made her debut in the Mission Impossible franchise as Ethan Hunt's wife in the J.J Abrams directed third instalment back in 2006. She made an unexpected cameo right at the end of Ghost Protocol but was left out entirely of 2015's Rogue Nation.
As tradition dictates, Tom Cruise is planning a death-defying stunt for the new movie, one that has seen the actor training for more than a year to achieve. After hanging off the side of a plane during take off, and holding his breath for six full minutes in Rogue Nation, I can't wait to see what they've cooked up this time.
Aside from Tom Cruise, Ving Rhames is the only other actor to appear in all the Mission Impossible movies, and he'll be back once again as Luther Stickell for the sixth time. Simon Pegg, Alec Baldwin, Sean Harris, and Rebecca Ferguson are all reprising their roles from previous sequels, and they'll be joined by franchise newcomer Henry Cavill. After the gloomy Batman v Superman, and the muddled Netflix movie Sand Castle, I'm looking forward to seeing Cavill do something that should by all accounts be fun.
Meanwhile, Tom Cruise' latest bid for a hit franchise outside of the Mission Impossible series hasn't made much of an impact at the US box office. Universal's The Mummy is the first chapter in their Dark Universe, and it's $31 million debut comes as a bitter disappointment. However, a robust $140 million from the rest of the world is cause for celebration, so it's an emotionally confusing time at Universal Studios.
Michelle Monaghan can currently be seen alongside Aaron Paul and Hugh Dancy in Hulu's original series The Path. Mission Impossible 6 is released in cinemas on July 27, 2018.
