Sarah Paulson has joined the cast of Ryan Murphy's latest anthology series for FX, Feud. Paulson will play Academy Award-winning actress Geraldine Page, and the eight-episode series will chart the legendary feud between acting titans Joan Crawford and Bette Davis.
The long-running rivalry between Crawford and Davis is perhaps the most notorious feud in Hollywood history. Forget Dwayne Johnson saying a few unkind words about Vin Diesel (which has been speculated to be the set-up for a Wrestlemania smack-down), the Davis and Crawford beef was the real deal.
Their latest collaboration marks the third active series of Murphy's that Paulson features in, and she has been rewarded this year with Emmy nominations for both American Horror Story and American Crime Story: The People vs. O.J Simpson. Perhaps he can find a small role for Paulson on Scream Queens to make it four for four.
Susan Sarandon will portray Bette Davis and after retiring from American Horror Story, Jessica Lange reunites with Ryan Murphy to star as Joan Crawford. Feud will explore the relationship between the two acting legends in the years that led up to them sharing the screen in What Ever Happened to Baby Jane?
Davis brings former child star Baby Jane Huson to chilling life as she routinely torments her wheelchair-bound sister (Crawford). A dark psychological thriller that mirrored their real life hatred for each other, so no method acting was required. Arguably, Bette Davis had the last laugh as she was nominated for an Academy Award for her performance as Baby Jane, she might not have won, but Crawford being snubbed by The Academy only added more fuel to the fire.
In addition to appearing in the forthcoming sixth season of American Horror Story and the Katrina set second run of American Crime Story, Sarah Paulson just bagged herself in the all-female Ocean's Eleven spin-off, Ocean's Eight.
Feud arrives on FX sometime in 2017.
